Beginning Quilt Class
Thursdays, October 3, 2024 - November 21, 11am - 2pmOr October 3, 2024 - November 21, 5:30pm - 8:30pm
This is a beginner class. In just eight three-hour classes, you will successfully finish your first quilt. In class, you will learn to machine piece, master half square triangles, apply borders and binding, and quilting techniques. Participants will each receive a handbook with complete directions for each class. We will help you with selecting the fabric to make this quilt. $240 + material & supplies bought at Prickly Pear Quilts, 10% discount on material & supplies. Do you struggle pulling fabric for your next project? You're not alone. Anyone can learn to build a palette that they like. In this class, you will learn how to train your eye to distinguish the subtleties of color. We will discuss the 4 elements of color, classic color palettes, balance, harmony, and contrast. Students will go through a fun exercise playing with fabric to develop pallets they find pleasing, and enjoy a colorful trunk show.  Don't let a rainy day get you down! Make a unique/Designer, waterproof 48" umbrella with fabrics of your choosing to brighten any day. They are fun to make and use, plus they make great gifts! Once you make one, you will want to make more! Most supplies, including the wood handles, are included in the cost of the class except purchasing your fabric. Patterns and handles will be available for child and doll umbrellas and the instructor will provide additional handles and waterproofing spray for purchase on the day of class.You will need to bring a sewing machine, sewing supplies and be willing to have fun making this umbrella!Sign up here today_____________________________________________________Embroidery Pumpkin Decor ClassOctober 26, 10am - 4pm
These embroidered pumpkins make beautiful fall holiday decor and can be stacked or used individually. This is an In the Hoop (ITH) machine quilted embroidery design.
Three different pumpkin segment designs as well as a leaf design are included. Each pumpkin is constructed using six segments (you can mix and match the three designs to make up the pumpkins).
The segments are joined using a regular sewing machine and can then be stuffed before sealing them with a small amount of hand stitching or fabric glue.
The designs come six sizes for the 4x4, 5x5, 6x6, 7x7, 8x8, and 9x9 hoops. You will receive all sizes with your purchase.
