Express your artistic side by making your own distinctive pair of sneakers! Choose fabrics to express your personality or to match your favorite outfit. They are easier than you might think and are fun to make.  

Once you make a one-of-a-kind pair of sneakers, you will undoubtedly want to make more for yourself or as gifts! Quilting cotton or batiks is the easiest fabric to work with, but lightweight denim, cotton canvas, or chambray are also good choices. Avoid knits, napped fabrics, or coated fabrics like oilcloth that don’t breathe. Sneakers can be made with one, two, or three fabrics. Sneakers can be made in classic or high top style.
