Machine Embroidery Club
Beginning Wednesday, September 3, machine embroidery enthusiasts will meet on the first Wednesday of each month from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm
1st month project, sewing machine zippered pouch - Learn to sew a zipper in the hoop

Join PPQ’s monthly embroidery club and take part in classes and sew-alongs designed to inspire and help you master the craft. In class, you will learn how and when to use different stabilizers, hoop vs. float your fabric, needles, and soooo much more. Each month, a project will be completed in class. Each month, a small fee will be charged for project supplies.
Don’t have an embroidery machine? No worries! We have several that can be checked out for the class. Kit costs may vary per month from $25 to $50. Patterns will be purchased separately.

Beginner Quilting Class – Make Your First Quilt!
Starts Thursday, September 25, 11 am – 2:30 pm, and ends November 13 or Thursday evenings, 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Ready to begin your quilting journey? In just eight sessions (each three and a half hours long), you’ll complete your very first quilt from start to finish! This beginner-friendly class will guide you through:
· Accurate cutting/ruler tips
· Machine piecing techniques
· Mastering half-square triangles
· Adding borders and binding
· Basic quilting methods
Each participant will receive a handbook with step-by-step instructions for every class. Plus, we’ll help you choose the perfect fabric for your quilt!
Cost:
· Enjoy a 15% discount on materials and supplies bought at PPQ.
· If you need an inexpensive machine to get started, we can help you with that purchase, too! We will guide you through purchasing a machine that ensures you have a machine ready to quilt.
· Important Note: Books, patterns, and required supplies must be purchased individually to comply with copyright regulations. Create Your Own Artistic Quilted Sneakers

Express your artistic side by making your distinctive pair of sneakers! Select fabrics that express your personality or complement your favorite outfit. Sneakers are easier than you think and are a lot of fun to make.
Once you make a one-of-a-kind pair of sneakers, you will undoubtedly want to make more for yourself or as gifts! Quilting cotton or batiks are the easiest fabric to work with, but lightweight denim, cotton canvas, or chambray are also good choices. Avoid knits, napped fabrics, or coated fabrics like oilcloth that don’t breathe. Sneakers can be made with one, two, or three fabrics. Sneakers can be made in classic or high-top style, with white or black soles.

After taking a class with Minki Kim, Connie is excited to teach Minki’s Mini Iron Case. Connie will share with you all the tips and tricks she learned from Minki and a few of her own. The Mini Iron Travel Bag is a sleek, padded case that is both functional and professional. This bag is perfect for keeping your travel iron protected and organized for retreats, classes, or home. Prep work is required for this class. In class, you will learn techniques for adding zippers, working with interfacing, sewing continuous bias binding, and finishing your bag with clean, professional details. Cross Stitch Club
Beginning on Monday, October 6, cross-stitch club members will meet on the first Monday of each month. Two sessions are available to choose from, 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm or 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
Cross Stitch Club is designed for those who want to dive in and create something tangible during a single session or a series of sessions. For sewists interested in learning cross-stitch fundamentals, those wishing to increase their knowledge, those who love cross-stitch, and those who want to join a stitch-along. We focus on completing a specific project while teaching you practical techniques along the way.
In addition to enjoying fellowship, stitchers will learn thread and fabric options, hoops, frames, and in-hand stitching, common stitches, specialty stitches, understanding patterns, starting a project, embellishments, finishing techniques, display ideas, and so much more!

Chroma quilt is a one-of-a-kind pattern that makes a 60” diameter circle quilt. Pieces are cut using a combination of paper and template piecing and then traditionally pieced. The quilt top comes together deceptively fast and is a joy to piece.
The first class will cover getting prepared, putting together templates, what and how you will cut, help choosing fabrics, if you are not sure, and will be a great time for questions and answers.
